Day 1– The Post- Human Era
A Brief History
1. The title of the lecture was The Post-Human Era.
2. The Human Era lasted little more than two million years.
3. Robots cannot comprehend the emotional aspect of human personality.
4. The “superior” robotic species were created by humans.
5. The human species died out as a result of growing global problems such as food and energy shortages, pollution, and global warming. The robots felt that humans were too emotional and irrational to solve the problems they caused.

Day 2
1. Flying fish don’t fly like birds instead they leap out of the water and glide through the air on their out – spread fins.
2. Porcupines defend themselves by inflating themselves to look like a big spiky balloon and not a tempting meal to any passing predator.
3. Piranha fish are found in the rivers and lakes of South America.
4. The sword fish uses its spike like a sword or bayonet which they slash back at forth to kill their prey.
5. The archerfish fish knocks its prey into the water by shooting a jet of water at it.
Connection: We will be finding out more about piranha fish when we study rainforests.
Day 3
Champollion and the Rosetta Stone
1.The writing of the ancient Egyptians was long forgotten because nobody understood what the symbols meant.
2, The ancient Egyptian writing is called hieroglyphics.
3. The Rosetta Stone was discovered by a French soldier called Bouchard.
4. A British scholar sent a copy of the texts to Champollion because he thought that Champollion would be able to work out some of the meanings of the hieroglyphics.
5. Champollin’s breakthrough was that he discovered that the text was the same piece of writing in three different languages.
Day 4
The little horse is newly
1. The poet’s playful use of grammar and punctuation is the unusual aspect of this poem.
2. The poem deals with a young foal.
3. The first sensations felt by the foal are the warmth and brightness of the sun and the singing of birds.
4. I think the poet makes us read the poem in this strange way to replicate the little foal’s first experience of the world.
5. The foal can’t be alone as his mother must be beside him as he is newly born and there are birds nearby singing.
6. The poet’s name is E.E. Cummings (His name is sometimes written with lowercase letters because of his playful attitude to punctuation)
7. He was an American poet.
8. He tried to paint pictures with his words.
