4th Class

Suggested Schoolwork in the Event of a School Closure                                         12/03/20

In the event of a school closure, we have asked 4th Class pupils to bring home some books so that they can continue to work on these textbooks on the days they should be in school. Each girl has the following books;

Read At Home: (Complete one a day as usual)

Mental Maths: (Complete one a day and do problem solving and Friday review). Children are asked to complete their work to the best of their ability. If there are any questions in the maths they can’t do, simply circle them and we will explain them fully when school resumes.

Reading: (Children can read their chosen library book)

Please encourage children to read extensively during the time they cannot attend school.

Spellings and Tables: Continue as usual, put spellings into sentences to keep up writing practice. When we return, we will have a Spelling Bee Competition based on the spellings we would have covered.  Play plenty of online tables games to work on recall speed.

China Project: Children have their scrap books home and can research and work on their China project.

Optional Project: Choose an inspiring woman in history and complete a poster project on her achievements.

Handwriting: As many pages as possible.

Narrative: Our current writing genre is narrative.  For story starters and inspiration visit http://www.pobble365.com/

While nobody is under any obligation to do the above work, we would very much appreciate your cooperation as we feel it is in the girls’ best interests to continue in their normal homework textbooks.
