Next week is Engineers Week, a nationwide event that seeks to promote engineering activities and careers to young people in Ireland.

This week in St. Kevin’s GNS, certain classes will be given the option of completing a small engineering project in place of some of their normal homework. On Tuesday the 3rd of March, the students will have the opportunity to present their projects as part of an Engineering Fair and there will be a small prize giving for each class. There will also be other engineering activities organized during the week.

Participation is optional but all children will get a chance to view all the projects in the school hall. We hope this will promote engineering to our students in a fun and practical way. Some examples and ideas for projects are on the school website, but other projects are welcome too.
