The sixth class girls have spent the last few weeks designing and stitching individual crests using felt, fabric and other materials. Each crest represents important things and interests to the girl who designed it and lots of time was spent carefully stitching and embroidering them. Well done girls on your hard work!
This week’s Jolly Phonics sounds are /oa/ (e.g. goat, boat) and /ie/ (e.g. tie). They are similar to our /ai/ sound as /oa/ and /ie/ also need two letters to make its sound. Have a listen to the songs below!
The girls were busy practising their road safety skills this week. Our hall was transformed into a little village and the girls had to safely move around the village on foot, on bikes and in cars. They took great care crossing the roads, making sure to stop, look and listen.
This week’s Jolly Phonics sounds are ‘ai’ (as in train) and j. ‘ai’ is a bit different to all the other sounds we have learnt because it needs two letters to make it. Have a listen to the songs below.
